PRESENTATION

The Laboratorio de Estudios Cristalográficos (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas and University of Granada) is delighted to announce the:

International School on Biological Crystallisation.

This International School will focus on the fundamentals of crystallisation from solutions and its applications to the field of the crystallisation of biological materials. The School will provide five days of lectures and practical demonstrations related to the crystallisation of biological macromolecules, biominerals and biomimetic materials, with one full day devoted to case studies on the crystallisation of membrane proteins and large macromolecular complexes.

The level of the School is intended for postgraduate and postdoctoral students as well as for research scientists from industry and academy that deals everyday with crystallisation but look for fundamental knowledge on the behaviour of crystallising solutions.

We invite students from all over the world to join us to learn from selected international teachers, to hear practical case study presentations, to watch practical hand-on demonstrations, to participate in round-table discussions and to present their research results in the dedicated poster session.

In accordance with IUCr Scientific Freedom Policy Statement, The Organizing Committee of the International School on Biological Crystallisation shall observe the basic policy of non-discrimination and affirms the rights of scientists throughout the world to adhere or to associate with international scientific activity without restrictions based on nationality, race, colour, age, religion, political philosophy, ethnic origin, citizenship, language, or sex, in accordance with the Statutes on the International Council of Scientific Unions. At this School no barriers will exist which would prevent the participation of bona fide scientists.

The language of the school will be English.
